With markets becoming ever more global and many companies operating on an increasingly international scale, high-quality translations are fundamental to ongoing business success.
Good communication is vital if business relationships across language borders are to work successfully. And a translation is always a means to that end:
That’s why you should always choose to work directly with professional translators with relevant qualifications, extensive technical knowledge, intercultural skills and experience in your line of business.

All of the following factors come together to produce a high-quality translation:
The requirements a translator has to fulfil with regard to qualifications and skills are prescribed in detail in ISO 17100:2015 Translation services – Requirements for translation services. Translation proficiency, linguistic and writing abilities in the source and target languages, cultural expertise and knowledge of the particular subject are absolutely fundamental to producing high-quality translations. As a member of BDÜ (Federal Association of Interpreters and Translators) with a university degree in translation and many years of experience, I can offer you the full range of skills you would expect from a professional translator. Depending on workload, subject and the languages involved, I will work closely with colleagues with equivalent qualifications in order to provide customers with the best solutions for their needs.
The use of suitable CAT (computer-assisted translation) software is crucial to the modern translation environment. I use SDL Trados Studio 2015/2017. Content that has been translated once is saved in a database specific to the customer, a so-called Translation Memory (TM), where it can be quickly mined for all future projects. This method guarantees good quality translations by ensuring that terminology remains consistent, but it also accelerates the translation process and saves costs. If a customer already has a glossary of special terms, then this can be easily integrated into the terminology management solution SDL MultiTerm and incorporated in the translation workflow.
An efficient translation workflow, and hence a high-quality overall service, needs sound project management. The main tasks are:
And finally, the quality of the source text plays an absolutely crucial role in the translation process. A well-formatted source text can be quickly and easily prepared for translation with CAT (computer-assisted translation) software. And a source text that is expressed clearly to a good linguistic standard will avoid misunderstandings and unnecessary queries. That saves the translator time, which in turn saves you, the customer, money.
Many factors influence the price of a translation:
All the above factors are taken into account for every translation enquiry in order to arrive at a tailored quotation.
The price is calculated on the basis of the number of words in the source text. Upon request, however, the invoice can be based on the number of standard lines in the target text. In this case, a standard line of 55 characters (including spaces) applies.
Every translation project is produced with the help of CAT (computer-assisted translation) software. This means that content that has been translated once is saved in a database specific to the customer, a so-called Translation Memory (TM), where it can be quickly mined for producing a quotation and for all future projects. And that in turn means attractive cost advantages for you as a customer.
